Kanten salads are 100% made from red seaweed (天草). They have virtually no calories and are an excellent source of dietary fibre (80% by content) intake, but provide a sense of fullness, so it's a perfect option for a low-carb dietary meal.

Drain off the water thoroughly from the kanten.

Soak the kanten in warm water (40℃) for 3 mins.
Drain off the water thoroughly from the kanten.
*This is shorter method to prepare the dry kanten than soaking in water.
*You can enjoy the warm kanten salad this way.
◆ Add dried kanten to soups or sauces directly!
Add the dried kanen salad to hot soups directly, and stir for 15-20 seconds.
The kanten will absorb liquids and become right texture.
