Matcha Kanten Jelly (抹茶寒天ゼリー)

Matcha Kanten Jelly is one of our long seller desserts, which actually very simple to make with only 4 ingredients.

We strongly recommend this recipe to all matcha lovers!! You can enjoy rich matcha flavour and Umami in the jelly. It’s not like gelatin jelly, it’s light and refreshing. Since there is no restricted allergen contained, we are sure you will be very appreciated if you bring it to home party, kids school events or any potluck gatherings.



Kanten powder 2g
Sugar 4tbsp
Matcha powder 1tsp
Water 350ml


1. Pour water into pan and add Kanten powder. Stir well.
2. Turn on the heat to medium to boil it until kanten is completely dissolved(=to become transparent liquid, about for 5mins after boiling).
3. Turn down the heat to low and add sugar. Stir well till completely dissolved.
4. Mix matcha powder with a little warm water and whisk well.
 *Before the step 4., we recommend to take matcha to a tea strainer and sift matcha with a spoon. It’ll help matcha becomes smooth when whisk.
5. Add the matcha in the kanten mixture and turn off the heat.
6. Strain the kanten well and let it cool down for several mins.
 *Straining process is important to make the jelly smooth.
7. Pour it into cups or containers and let it cool down in the fridge.

Enjoy the matcha kanten jelly as is, or your favourite toppings (we recommend black sugar syrup, maple syrup, ice cream and sweet red bean paste)!!


1. 鍋の中に水と粉寒天を入れてよくかき混ぜて馴染ませる。
2. 中火にして粉寒天が完全に溶けるまでかき混ぜながら温める。目安は寒天液が透明になるまで。沸騰後5分間程度。
3. 弱火に下げてから砂糖を加えてよくかき混ぜて溶かす。
4. 大さじ1のお湯で抹茶をたてる。※その前に茶漉しで抹茶を漉しておくとダマのない抹茶ができます。
5. (4.)の抹茶を鍋に入れたら火を止めてよく混ぜ合わせます。
6. 寒天ミックスをしっかりと濾したら粗熱を取ります。※濾すことでゼリーが滑らかになります。
7. 容器に流し入れたら冷蔵庫でよく冷します。
